ICDC2026

ON THE WAY TO ICDC2026

Following three vibrant and intellectually rich editions in Nancy, France (2019), Annecy, France (2022), and Belfast, UK (2024), the Interdisciplinary Conference on Disability and Consumption (ICDC) is back for its fourth edition—this time expanding to a two-day format and travelling north to Denmark, a country with a strong tradition of socioanthropological approaches to markets and consumption.

The Syddansk Universitet (SDU) in Odense will host ICDC2026 on 9-10 April 2026 with a renewed ambition: to deepen critical, interdisciplinary and situated understandings of disability and consumption, and to foreground health-related issues, both as lived realities and as market-mediated constructions.

The conference is co-chaired by Dr. Anna Schneider-Kamp (Syddansk Universitet, Denmark), Prof. Søren Askegaard (Syddansk Universitet, Denmark), Dr. Anthony Beudaert (University Toulouse Jean Jaurès, France), and Prof. Jean-Philippe Nau (University of Lorraine, France), whose work has been largely devoted to health-related issues and consumers with disabilities.
